Clean Up Time
I remember growing up my mom would have people over for dinner and spend the next 2 hours after everyone left cleaning up. Apparently my dad thought that when you had company over that means your wife automatically transforms into a slave. It became ingrained in me that guests should never help with anything.
Luckily for me, I’m single and have the 13th amendment on my side. I know you feel that your guests shouldn’t help you, but if they offer, say no the first time, if they insist, point them to the kitchen. You cooked all day, paid for all the groceries and set everything up. Washing a few dishes is the least they can do.
I know when I go over someone’s house I always help out a little. Taking some plates to the kitchen, throwing things out can really makes a big difference. Those 5-10 minutes of everyone helping will save you an hour or two the next day. The more women I have over the better. Most of them volunteer or get nudged by their significant other to move it. No guy wants to be the one with the lazy girlfriend. The ones that don’t help out need to stop wondering why they’re still single.
